Good questions
Short answers about where these ports come from and how we track them. The long version: how AI and WebAssembly brought old games back.
Why are so many old games suddenly being ported?
AI coding assistants now help fans read decompiled code, write glue code and fix bugs much faster, and WebAssembly lets that code run in a browser. Projects that used to take years now appear in weeks.
Are these ports official?
No. Every entry here is a fan or community project. None of them are made or endorsed by the original publisher, and PortedGames is not affiliated with any of them.
Do you host any games or downloads?
No. We do not host files of any kind. We link to the port author's own site or repository, and we never link to game files, ROMs or ISOs.
Why do some ports need my own game files?
Many ports only rebuild the engine or code. The game's art, sound and levels still belong to the publisher, so you have to supply them from a copy you own.
How do you know if a port still works?
A script requests every port's official link each day and records the result and the date. Status means: Working, Slow, Down, or Taken down (removed by the author or after a takedown request).
